Statement of Faith

First Baptist Church, Hammonds Plains, is a member of the Convention of Atlantic Baptist Churches. The basic tenets of the church include basic Baptist beliefs as defined by the Convention, as well as the following objects expressed in the Constitution of the church, believed to be in harmony with the purpose of Christ's Church, as declared in the New Testament:

• The maintenance of public worship and the preaching of the gospel
• The study of the Bible as a guide to right living
• The promotion and advancement of Christ's Kingdom and the support of the missionary enterprises of the Atlantic Baptist Churches
• The instruction of the Christian Faith
• The relief of the poor
• The support of such righteous causes as God makes our concern

All are welcome in our church, whether or not they have attended Christian churches in the past, were baptized, or have not been baptized. We are all members of the family of God.
